This container is made from brass, shaped, cast, forged and patinated. (weight 25.5 grams)

This container features snail medic seeds and their seed capsule. I found the seed capsules in my garden. I firstly did not know what they were until I found specimens in the Museum of Economic Botany in the Adelaide Botanic gardens. A place which I love to visit.

In Greek mythology, Elpis represents the personification of hope. Her role becomes particularly significant in the myth of Pandora's Box.

Elpis’ presence in the box symbolizes that even in the face of widespread adversity, hope endures. It suggests that hope is a crucial element in human experience, providing strength and solace when confronted with life's difficulties.

Elpis serves as a reminder that hope can persist even in dire circumstances, offering a sense of optimism and the potential for better times ahead.
