This neckpiece features septarian nodule from Morrocco.The stones are mounted in claw settings and connected with a handmade silver chain

The lenghts of the necklace is 51cm. The largest septarian nodule slice has a diameter of  approximatley 5cm 

"Septarian Nodule from Morrocco.  Septarian concretions or septarian nodules, are concretions containing angular cavities or cracks, called ""septaria"". The word comes from the Latin word septum; ""partition"", and refers to the cracks/separations in this kind of rock.

These Septarian Nodules from Morrocco and cut and polished into thin slices. Septarian nodules are a form of sedimentary geode that formed between 50 and 70 million of years ago.  In the case of septarian nodules the concretions formed around decaying sea-life in a marine environment.   They contain angular cavities or cracks, called which have filled with calcite, aragonite and other minerals giving the stone its structure and different colour  Siderite or pyrite coatings are also occasionally observed on the wall of the cavities present in the septaria, giving rise respectively to a panoply of bright reddish and golden colours.
