Necklace featuring a pyrite on a foxtail chain

The pyrite is set in a decorative silver setting. The square foxtail chai is 1.2mm thick and 42cm long. I can supply a longer of shorter chain by request.

The mineral pyrite or iron pyrite, also known as fools gold. Pyrite's metallic luster and pale brass-yellow hue gives it a resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool's gold

The name pyrite is derived from the Greek πυρίτης λίθος (pyritēs lithos), "stone or mineral which strikes fire"

In ancient Roman times, this name was applied to several types of stone that would create sparks when struck against steelPliny the Elder described one of them as being brassy, almost certainly a reference to what we now call pyrite.
