Day 2: 11. November - 10am to 1pm
In this two-day class you will learn how to carve and manipulate and texture wax to shape rings which then can be cast in sterling silver.
I will guide you through the steps of sizing the ring and making a wax model using the ancient technique of wax carving.
This introductory class is designed for beginners with no previous experience. Or for the intermediate student who hasn't used wax carving techniques.
Please note this is a two class workshop with a week in-between to allow for sending the rings to the foundry for casting them in sterling silver.
In the first class you will learn how to size, shape and pattern and your ring. The following week you will learn how to finish the ring ready to be worn.
All materials, class notes, silver for one ring and casting fees are included. Additional items will incur a fee for casting and sterling silver.
Tea, coffee and home made sourdough for lunch provided.
